Isaac Dennis Amoah is a distinguished scholar and Global Professor in the Department of Environmental Science at the University of Arizona, Tucson, USA. With a Ph.D. in Health Sciences (Environmental Health), Dr. Amoah has built an impressive career focused on environmental microbiology, health-related water microbiology, and interdisciplinary research. He earned his doctorate from the Durban University of Technology in South Africa, with a thesis on "The risk factors of soil-transmitted helminth infections: a need for appropriate measurement methods."
As a Global Professor at the University of Arizona, Dr. Amoah has been instrumental in developing courses in Environmental Systems Biology, Ecotoxicology, and Environmental Microbiology at the university's Microcampus in Yangling, China.
Dr. Amoah's extensive work experience includes roles as a Lecturer at the Durban University of Technology, where he taught Environmental Law and contributed to research program development. As a Research Associate at the Institute for Water and Wastewater Technology, he led the development of a wastewater-based epidemiological framework for COVID-19 surveillance, tuberculosis surveillance, and antimicrobial resistance.
